Peiliang Jin is a painter of landscapes and outdoor scenes,
primarily in watercolor. His technique is inspired by his
classical training in the traditional and ancient watercolor
methods of the Chinese art culture. Fine point brushes allow
him with a single stroke to convey accuracy and delicacy to
highlight anchor structures such as trees and flowers within a
painting, while at the same time blending curve, color and
light in the more expansive parts of the painting. The total
effect of his technique pulls the viewer into the painting
itself.
One of the artist's passions is music, particularly the
violin, which he studied as a boy in Shanghai. Today he finds
music to be the non-visual equivalent of his art in that both
result in a calming and soothing of the soul. Music helps
Peiliang visualize and create art that envelops our senses and
gently warms us internally. His unique blend of traditional
Chinese art, modern art, portrait art and his extraordinary
eye for blending color all combine to give us a unique vision
of the peace and tranquility of a world as it should be. In
these troubled times, the artist has come to us to calm the
nerves and say: "Everything will be all right"!
Peiliang Jin was born in Shanghai, China in 1958. He emigrated
to the USA in 1988 and became a US citizen in 1999. In China
he was raised in an artist's family; his father and
grandfather are both portrait artists. Peiliang studied
traditional Chinese painting for 17 years from two masters:
Jian-Lou Cao and Yo Ding in Shanghai and in the late 1980s he
studied modern art at the Dusseldorf Art Academe in Germany.
He also received a degree from the Fashion Institute of
Technology in New York City in 1993. His work has been
exhibited in many shows and appears in over 100 private
collections.
